Please join us at the Opening Reception of Hawaii Forest Industry Association’s Hawaii’s Woodshow 2010 to view some of the most beautiful wood creations by Hawaii woodworkers and artists! Kahi will have a wood sculpture in this exhibition. Coming up on Art After Dark Friday, March 26, 2010 at 6:30 pm, at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. Kahi and his bonsai are featured in the Feb/March issue of HILuxury magazine under “luxgarden”. The magazine is available at Barnes & Noble, Borders, Times Supermarket, and at Fujioka’s Wine.
Kahi will be in this year’s Fiber Hawaii 2010 show. This is his first attempt in entering any fiber show. Look for his piece entitled, “Aqua Fiber Cultivar”, in paper mache and acrylic. Show dates are from January 19 – February 27, 2010, Tuesday – Saturday 11 am – 6 pm at the The ARTS at Marks Garage (1159 Nu’uanu). Opening reception is on January 19 from 7-9 pm.

Mark your calendars! Kahi has added another show this coming week. ”Mixed Media Miniature Exhibition XIII” opens this Thursday, Nov. 19 with an opening reception between 4:30 – 7:30 pm, and runs until Friday, Dec. 18. Look for two pieces by Kahi at this exhibition. This is a fundraising event for Koa Art Gallery. MMM is the original of miniature themed shows in Hawaii and is one of the highest attended exhibitions in Honolulu, as well as a favorite for art collectors. Just letting you folks know that we are working on our next show at the gallery. It will be a bonsai show featuring Kahi’s bonsai work – live trees, sketches & such. There will be two rotations of different bonsai as the trees themselves need to be back out in the open after three days. Two sets of 3 days, Nov. 20 – 22 & 27 – 29, 11am – 6pm daily.
