Happy Early St. Patrick’s Day Everyone! (yes…Kahi is part Irish)

Please join us at the Opening Reception of Hawaii Forest Industry Association’s Hawaii’s Woodshow 2010 to view some of the most beautiful wood creations by Hawaii woodworkers and artists! Kahi will have a wood sculpture in this exhibition. Coming up on Art After Dark Friday, March 26, 2010 at 6:30 pm, at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. Please join us during September’s First Friday (Sept. 4) exhibit opening 5PM – 9PM. Accession ’09 showcases the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts’ recent acquisitions in 2008. View Kahi’s wood piece entitled, “Starseed IV” in the exhibit. The exhibit will be ongoing through January 16, 2010, Tuesday thru Saturday, 10AM – 4PM. Thank you to Maile Meyer, Jerry Vasconcellos, Bob Freitas, volunteers and others for making the Maoli Art In Real Time art exhibit a success! Thank you to all of the wonderful artists for sharing your artwork with all the visitors. This event has been well received and everyone is looking forward to next year’s exhibit.

8th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention

We will be there! We are excited to say that we will have a few select pieces of Hawaiian woodwork and original paintings from Kahi Ching for sale at the 8th Annual Native Hawaiian Convention.

The convention will focus on a dynamic range of issues related to the Native Hawaiian culture. We will be helping to transform the Moloka‘i Room into a gallery space. Kahi and other Maoli artists will have their art displayed and available for sale. Portions of the sale will be donated to the Hawaiian Way Fund, a not-for-profit fundraising program of Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement that supports over 50 community not-for-profits.

This is an awesome event, being the largest gathering of community members, organizations, policy makers, legislative representatives, and Federal agencies interested in Native Hawaiian community development.

If you are attending, please come by the Moloka‘i Room to see us!
